The course introduction to political science is a foundation course for students of political science and international relations. It introduces to the fresh students of politics and international relations political concepts that have shaped the course of the discipline. It engages concepts such as sovereignty, power and authority/legitimacy and influence in its analysis. It also examines the forces of reform, revolution and military coups as they alter the configuration of the state system. The lectures will discuss the concept and nature of military rule, public administration and international relations/organizations. The discussions will also show to the students that the discipline of political science transcends the conduct of elections.
